In 2018, Ms. Certa was named as one of the "50 Women Who Can Change the World in Media & Entertainment". Through her work at the PGA Women's Impact Network and Bow Revolution, she has proven to be one of the growing many who not simply talks about inclusion but takes action to make sure her productions enact it.
Her career spans a couple of decades and her experience covers all genres and mediums. She has line produced seven independent films, one of which had her in Ethiopia for “Difret”, executive produced by Angelina Jolie, which won the audience award at Sundance 2014. “Difret” is a dramatic feature based on a true story of a 14-year old girl who is on trial for murder of her kidnapper and rapist. In 1996, this was the first case ever of murder in self-defense in the country of Ethiopia.
Most recently, she produced the cult favorite webseries "Oishi Demon Hunter" and feature comedy "Ghostmates" starring the Smosh creators Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla, which premiered on YouTube RED.
The May/December Rom-Com “Attachments”, directed by Richard Krevolin starring Katherine Ross and Corey Eid, is currently hitting the festival circuit.
And before her tenure at Grant Larson Productions as President of Production, Ms. Certa produced on the popular web-series "Super Fan Builds", exclusively on Verizon's Go90!
Other titles include the horror film “Bit Parts”, a political mockumentary “A New Tomorrow”, comedies "Target Audience 9.1" and "What If People Died", and lastly the action thriller “Circadian Rhythm”, which had her working alongside Seymour Cassel, Jonathan Banks, Rachel Miner and David Anders.
In 2009, she made her directorial début with “SpyForLove” which landed her a Best Comedy Short nomination at her first festival showing. Since then she’s had a modicum of success with her other shorts “Smiley” and “Undisconnected” which was nominated for Best in the Fest and winner of Best Director. She has also won numerous awards for her writing with her dramatic work on “Life After”.
Ms. Certa is also a very active member of the Producers Guild of America and has served on the AP Council Board for the past 8 years. She single handedly doubled the PGA Master Class programming and created the PGA Pitch to W.I.N. event, which helps educate on the pitch process, provides one-on-one training and sets up pitch meetings with executives in all genres.
In addition, she has worked as a Post Production Supervisor and on the producing teams for top-rated reality shows such as “America’s Next Top Model”, “Manhunt”, and “Bridezillas”.
